HX Innovations
Transforming Data Delivery with Intuitive Dashboards
Hx Innovations' manual, time-consuming method of generating and delivering performance data reports hindered timely access for athletes and teams, slowing performance optimization and injury prevention efforts, and limiting the company's capacity to scale effectively.

Final Designs and Outcome
We successfully transformed Hx Innovations’ data delivery system from laborious manual reports to an interactive, easy-to-understand dashboard. The dashboard empowers athletes and teams with immediate access to critical performance data, enhancing training effectiveness and injury prevention.
"I love how straightforward it is to get to the data users want to see."

Wireframes were designed for the entire user flow, then accompanied with a few high fidelity screens highlighting how the web application could look.
Time Consuming, Complex Data
Hx Innovations was initially delivering complex muscle movement and joint activity data via manual reporting and printable PDFs. This process was time-consuming and made it challenging for athletes and teams to promptly access and comprehend their performance data.

During the discovery phase, we took time to understand what data was most important to highlight, what was purely information, and how to display performance trends.
Cumbersome Manual Data Processing
The early sales traction at Hx Innovations resulted in a high demand for data scans, creating a long queue and a cumbersome manual data processing and delivery system. It became clear that a more efficient, user-friendly solution was needed.

I designed the specific user flow and interactions, highlighting a user's expected journey.
Identifying the Important Data
We started with a discovery meeting to understand the user's needs. I then designed user flows and wireframes, developed a clickable prototype, and created a high-fidelity design of a dashboard screen. Our work revolved around Figma for design, Mural for brainstorming, and Whimsical for wireframing.
What data brings value, and what is just distracting?

I created a light design system that would enable a developer to build out the wireframes matching the high fidelity screens I designed.
A Simple, Intuitive User Facing Dashboard
Through our discovery phase, we prioritized data that needed to be highlighted, identified informational elements, and developed ways to display performance trends. Our primary goal was to present the data in an easily understandable format that could guide athletes towards actionable insights for their performance enhancement and injury prevention.

The new report would be much more digestible, letting an athlete or coach quickly see where a player ranked among their peers, as well as highlight any risk of injury.

How We Landed
With the new dashboard, trainers can now efficiently analyze the performance of athletes within a team or league. The tool provides a comprehensive overview, including individual risk reports and demographic ranking, all exportable in PDF format. This solution has completely replaced the manual process, providing quick and intuitive access to performance data, thereby improving the efficacy of training and injury prevention.

My designs included views for hover states, interactive points and more.
